CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, Ohio — Barbara Boyd, a former Cleveland Heights City Council member who served multiple terms as a state representative, died Saturday at the age of 80, according to reports. Boyd, who had been dealing with health problems for several years, died while surrounded by family members, according to a news release. Her death was first reported by Cleveland Urban News. Boyd was a former public school teacher who became involved in politics during the 1970s when she worked on the campaign for President Jimmy Carter.
